Who We Are

A private financing platform for substantial HKEX transactions.

Hong Kong Stock Loans is a private financing platform built specifically for substantial transactions secured by Hong Kong–listed equity. We arrange and structure stock loans and block trades on behalf of controlling shareholders, founders, family offices, and public corporates. We do not maintain a retail business, a salesforce, or a marketing operation in any conventional sense.

Our work sits at the intersection of three things: the depth and global reach of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the cultural and structural specificities of Greater China shareholders, and the institutional demand for discretion in transactions of consequence. Each is a precondition; none is sufficient on its own.

The firm is engaged by introduction or direct enquiry. Engagements are run by senior principals from initial conversation through to funding. Junior intermediaries, outsourced salesforces, and aggressive business-development pipelines are not part of our model.

Founder & Managing Principal

Edward Chan Wai-Lun

Edward brings more than twenty-five years of Asia institutional capital markets experience to the firm. He previously headed Greater China Lombard lending and share-backed financing at a global private bank, with earlier senior roles in Asia Equity Capital Markets at Morgan Stanley and on the Hong Kong block trading desk at Goldman Sachs. He has led mandates for controlling shareholders, single-family offices, and listed corporates across HKEX Main Board, GEM, and Chapter 18A issuers. Graduate of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology; MBA, The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Member of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute.

Co-Founder & Principal

Anthony Lam Tsz-Kin

Anthony has over twenty years of experience in structured equity, private credit, and Greater China block execution. He was most recently a Managing Director at CLSA, where he ran the Hong Kong block trading and equity finance franchise. His earlier career includes structured derivatives at UBS Investment Bank in Hong Kong, principal investments at a mainland China sovereign-affiliated fund, and corporate finance at JPMorgan Cazenove. He has executed substantial block crossings, pre-IPO placements, and shareholder restructuring transactions across the Hong Kong, Shanghai–Hong Kong Stock Connect, and Singapore listed markets. BSc Economics, The London School of Economics and Political Science; CFA charterholder.

i低調 · Discretion. Conversations are private by default. We do not publish client lists, transaction details, or case studies. The absence of marketing is itself the marketing.
ii關係 · Relationships. Engagements are durable. Repeat transactions across years, generations, and circumstances are the norm rather than the exception.
